I finally finished my grinder, so I felt okay about doing this knife. It's my first hollow grind with about a 7.5" contact wheel.

Specs are:
1084 steel blade
1/8" brass pins
Hollow ground
Spalted Maple Burl handle (from Burl Source)
4.5" blade length
~9" overall
Scotchbrite satin finish from 600 grit.

Please let me know of any improvements that I need to do for future knives. Thanks!

Mike ya done good man! :D:thumbup: your handle looks good, and looks like it would be comfortable in a pinch grip, which is essential for game cleaning, and skinning. However as you can see in the above photo. it's obvious you didnt keep even pressure from one side to the other. Make sure on future knives you look at this perspective before you stop grinding. The only other thing is a personal preference really. I dont care for such a short and high angled clip. I'd like to see it lowered and longer. take a look at a KaBar USMC knife. and compare it your's you'll see what I'm talking about.

Jason: Yeah, I knew I messed it up, but it was as thin as I wanted it before I realized it. I wasn't sure about the clip, and I like how this one turned out, but I generally agree that longer and shorter clips are better.

Good job Mike. I agree with Jason but you are getting beter at this. Keep it up.

I think the knife turned out looking great. You did good Mike. Keep up the good work. Each one will get better.

Looks really good, the handle contours look very comfortable. I think most of the new makers arw afraid round a handle IMO.

You have to be excited with your results.
