This was my first attempt at a folder and decided to start basic with a friction. The hardest part for me was getting the design set and making sure everything was going to line up and such.
You folder guys are something else I must say hats off to ya. There are a few things that are not that great but overall I'm happy with it and and feels good to have it under my belt.
01 steel
Stainless pivot and stop pin
OD green canvas micarta
Coyote brown G10 backspace
OAL is 6" open
Blade is 2.5" tip to front of handle

Let me know what you think comments always welcome.

Thanks guy's. I definitely will be doing more plus I would like to try a frame or liner lock but not sure I'm there yet.

Great job, love the black finish! Much better than my first attempt :D I've always thought it's a great idea to have a finger choil that flows into the ricasso on a FF since it's really adds to the saftey of not having the cutting edge close on your finger. Very nice design :) Have you by any chance been following along with the "Sugarcreek Forge Build Along 2014 FF Build"? (Man that's a mouthful)

That came out really nice man, I've been thinking about giving this a shot as well, very inspiring, thanks. can I ask what resources/ tutorials etc, you learned from?

Binalith, go to the youtube channel "SugarcreekForge". He has a good tutorial from a few years back, and he just finished doing a friction folder build along with a series of "How-to" vids. Here is a link to his page: https://www.youtube.com/user/SugarcreekForge

Just check out his latest vids and you'll find the tutorials quickly. Tim is a great guy and a great teacher. :)

Binalith they are pretty cool and I enjoyed making it just a bit intimidating at first but actually once you get into it not terrible just different and a lot of trying to fit everything perfect.

I think coldsteel linked a really good video and I think that is the same guy that made the video tutorial on making a friction folder I originally watched. There was another picture tutorial I looked at and think it was on British blades if I can find it I will link to it.
