Hola,
Well it has taken me awhile in between work, other hobbies, and switching between different blades I have cut out, but I have finished my first blade. I started with 1084 steel I purchased from USA Knife Maker. Used a angle grinder to remove some steel, and a bench grinder to get the rough shape. Next I switched over to the Craftsman 2x42 and played on that for a while. I got it near heat treat finish, and that's when I was made a generous off by Mason of Leethal Cutlery here on the forums. He offered to let me come over to his place, and he would show me some tips and help me with anything I needed. Of course, I took him up on it. He took me through the process of heat treating and gave me some tips on grinding, among other things, and allowed me to use his nice KMG 2x72.

It made it back home, and I continued on. I sanded the length of the blade and made her shiny. I had the orange G10 scales to near fitting before I smudged on the epoxy and left it overnight clamped in between three little mini C clamps. I came home today, and finished her up.

I've smoothed the scales out a bit more since the pictures too. :) Not perfect, but I sure do like it.

Good looking first there...

I am constantly impressed with the generosity in the knife making community. It seems there are a lot of willing teachers and receptive students. Everyone rejoices in each other's successes and helps to fix each other's mistakes.

Good show Leethal, and nice looking knife there T Gun!

Damn nice job Josh!! Now we need to get you started in sheath making! ;) it was great hanging out with you, and I hope we can kick it again soon!! :)

I completely agree and consider this paying it forward for all the help, and info all my brothers have given me here! Best damn community period!
