Finaly got around to finishing a few more.

First is a kitchen knife, like a large paring knife. ATS-34 heat treated by Paul Bos and stainless pins and Handle is stabilized spalted pecan that came out of my firewood pile. I finaly got in gear a while back and sent a bunch of wood off to be stabilized by WSSI and they did a great job. Who'd thought oak and pecan would look good on a knife? This one has a lot of 3D figure going on that I can't get a decent pic of. Blade is 3", with over all of 7 1/2"

Next is a sheep and bufalo horn hunter, with 52100 blade and etched finish. 4 1/2" cutting edge, 9 7/8" overall, bronze gaurd.

This is one I finished a while back, finaly got around to making a sheath for it. Sheep horn handle, bronze gaurd, 52100 blade, etched finish.

Those are beautiful, Will! You're right, that pecan is gorgeous. That third knife is one of the very finest examples of that particular style I have seen.

Thanks, you mean the buffalo horn or the all sheep horn? The first two pics are of the same knife. The scales are book matched from the same block, but one side's darker than the other. I wish I could get a good pic of the pecan, amazing what a half rotted piece of fire wood looks like stuffed full of plastic.:D

The all sheep horn, Will. I like the bufflo, too, but the last knife trips my trigger.

Thanks, but it neary drove me crazy, that's the first time I tried an all sheep horn handle. I wanted to leave a lot of texture, but the piece and my skill level wern't up too it, so no natural texture. Don't think I'll be doing many more of them like this. One thing sheep horn is too hard to come by down here.

My pick is the last one...Elegant...Beautiful! That knife is the one I would pick up again & again to just admire & smile.

Will,
I like them all, but I'm particularly fond of the clean lines of the first one:thumbup:
Nice job!
Matt

Thanks guys, except for the last one, which was a rushed custom order that when it came time for payment the customer disapeared, they've all been sitting on my bench for the last 6 months. It feels good to finaly get some done. heck, I even did a little work on some more mosiac damascus this afternoon. My press has been missing me.
