Finished up a couple of knives today.

Here is the back.:o

Ahh...gotcha. The drill press helped me a lot in that case.

Those look great, Frank. The cocobolo especially is beautiful, but I like the mesquite too. How did you do your machine finish?

I have gotten gradually better keeping stitches straight using a punch and hammer, but some guys put the punch in their drill press and use it to make the holes. My first couple of leather projects I tried drilling holes on the drill press and they looked crooked on the front and terrible on the back, so I haven't been back to the drill press since.

Keep up the nice work!

I use a 1/16" drill bit in the drill press instead of a punch. It works well for me.

Sweet knives, I really like the second one. Keep working on the sheaths, it took me longer to learn how to make them than the knife.

Just one minor critique. Your work is very nice, and very clean, but the climbing vine on the spine really should go the opposite direction as natural plant life usually starts out small, then blossoms out, and with the thorns pointed forward, penetration is slightly affected in many cases.
