Now to get the blade in a somewhat useable condition.
 
180 grit sandpaper, jewelers files (for the part beside the rocker), mothers polish and alot:eek: of elbow grease. Total time, approximately 6 hours over 3 days.
 
Well done.....when you have the skills to do that, you have a big edge on the rest of the buyers.

I LOVE IT! Nice turnaround on that old faithful:thumbup:
My hat is off to anyone who puts in that kind of effort to restore an old knife!

Try the synthetic elbow grease, it's got a higher thermal breakdown rating.
 
Wow nice job!! Looks like I'll be closing down the spa early tonight due to a lack of customers! :)

Thanks for the info. It really does look nice. Don't have many that need cleaned up but was thinking about getting a cheapie bench grinder and some of those buffing wheels for it. Thought a little jewelers rouge on a wheel would make polishing brass and maybe nickle a lot easier than my little Dremel.
 
Thanks to everyone for the complements. Being only the second knife I did, I still can't believe it turned out so well. I did forget to mention that I simply buffed out the wood and the
color came right back.
