I posted to Custom but I forgot to share it here! All criticism, comments, and questions are welcome.

The video is far from professional but that will take some time. Since I am still new to knife-making I am hoping to get some good pointers from you guys :)

Hey Don, You are young!!
I tought You where an old knifemaker with many many years of experience, from seeing your knives!!!!
I like Your style, very nice knives and great care of details!:thumbup:

Awesome vid Don! One or two quick questions...

1. What is that backing on the flat platen when you were doing the fronts of the handles?

2. What etcher are you using? It looks nice and simple as far as I can tell.

Thanks guys!

I agree Butch - I'm saving up to get a bandsaw pretty soon here!

Erdbeereis, I think you're looking at the glass platen. The etcher is Chris Crawford's design and schematic.

I love your style Don! The way you shape your handles is very stylish and eye catching. Keep doing what you are doing brother!! ;)

Hi Don..That is a very elegant looking knife. I am sure you have plenty of takers for a kitchen knife like that.

i know all about work9ng around tools when you dont have one :)
even tho i dont think i have held one of your knives i bet they are well balanced as to round and comfortable vs anti rotation. they sure do look nice and you can pick out your work in a crowded market ( thats is so important these days)

Pretty cool, I've been wanting to do a video or two as well, but have been trying to get 100% caught up before I do.

Plus, my fiance and I just went into escrow yesterday on our first house together, and I probably won't have time for quite a while. :(

Really good video, Don. I always love your simple and elegant kitchen knives. The video shows why they look so nice.....attention to details.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr

Uhh

That IS a really nice video. Somehow you seem to be channeling Nick Wheeler (you learned the lessons he taught in his handsanding videos very well). I was impressed that you free handed the angles on the front of the handles with such ease. The video was edited very well.

I like your knives. As I said somewhere else they are distinctively YOUR designs and I appreciate (a great deal) you sharing information so freely with us and I think you have a bright future no matter what you do in your career.
