I've a Case stockman that's an old friend, and it needed some time in mineral oil to loosen a sticky pivot. Well, an hour in mineral oil left the scales incredibly bleached somehow- a feat that has never happened before with me and bone handles.

I've soaked it in dark brown Rit, and now it's a nice brown/black. How do I give it that showroom shine?

You should be able to just buff it up by hand with soft wool or cotton cloth.

Elbow grease and a buffing pad it is. It's a nice color, but I'd like that hard gloss a new knife has.
