You've got some really interesting looking pieces-have you tried shaping any yourself?

Thanks. I bought a disc sander last night. I was encouraged by a few folks I've been in contact with to do so as a neccesity for quality control.

It looks like I will be travelling this weekend (perhaps not..we'll see) so sometime next week I'll get it set up and start showing better examples. Keep watching.

I keep meaning to try out weldwood for this. Problem is that it's too danged hot. "cooling down" in Davis today means highs of 101! Hoiwever, we've got lows of 62 predicted, so maybe if I get set up this evening and do the job at 6am......

I've also got a really good press sytem, I think. a pair of railroad tie plates with 1/4 inch ply gorrila glued on the flats. (glue them up with lots of plastic wrap between them and then stack it so yoour surfaces are flush with each other. Unless you have a mill for the tie plates.) Have to experiment with clamping pressure. And see if weldwood can be mixed thin or thick, fast or slow, or whatever. Time to read more specs.
