Hello,
I'm practicing aging some blades using the super blue/bleach/boiling water method and some file work along the spine. Obviously the scales wont be attached during the aging/filing process. What is the best way to epoxy the scales on and avoid the epoxy getting on the aged metal file work especially along the spine? Thanks!

The best way is to use no epoxy at all. Just use mechanical fasteners.

I would recommend pivot bolts - this is what I use for all my knock-down knives. These consist of a threaded barrel and two torx screws. Counterbore your holes so that you provide a little shelf for the screws to snug up against. Works like a charm.

You could also drill and tap the tang before ht-treat.on some of my small skinners I do that and use 0-80 stainless or gold plated screws.
