Any tips here?

I've never worked with this material previously. Rarely use synthetics at all, buffing with white rouge seems to stain it, and I don't have any new clean buffs.

Blue or pink polishing paper maybe? Should I use paste wax or anything afterwards?

Will heat or putting under a UV lamp help it to yellow back out or is the passage of time the only option?

Thanks all!

Sand to 600 grit, wet. Buff with 0000 steel wool, dry. Polish on a slow-speed (1700 RPM) buffer with tripoli or green chrome compound. Spray with WD 40 to get most of the buffing compound off. Then, make a paste of dish detergent and baking soda and scrub the piece with your fingers. Use a brush in hard to reach areas. Dry thoroughly, inspect, and if all the marks are gone, polish with paste wax.
I doubt you can accurately duplicate the yellowing. It will yellow in time.

Because I bought it from you guys and it says "Antique Westinghouse Ivory Micarta" ? :P

I'm pretty certain I got if from you at Blade last year.

Also, thanks Bill.

I like to wet sand by hand to around 2000 grit, the redine paper is great because it will not stain.

It has been a while but if I recall correctly pink compound works well for buffing. Cleaning with a toothbrush and Dawn soap goes a long ways.

As a note I left some new white paper micarta on a windowsill for about two years with absolutely no color change. I'm not too sure on the vintage material...

Yeah I tried white rouge again last night and it seemed fine.. Not sure why I thought it was staining.
