Finn Bear/Roach Belly?

I want the Finn Bear! Will get one in time but right now I am toying with the idea of using a Henckels Five Star pairing knife.

I have both. In fact I bought all four of the knives in that series. All I can say is I will buying more of them for Xmas presents. The Roach Belly makes a fair Kitchen knife and I can't say enough about the Canadian Belt knife from CS. I used it during deer season and it performed very well for a 10.00 Knife. I have not used the Fin Bear yet but its very sharp and I would expect it to perform well.

More interested in the Roach Belly. Is the spine straight on top or does it curve up? What kind of tang does it have?

I have owned all the knives in this series..and for the $10, you can't go wrong, the steel does need to be sharpened after each heavy use though...but thats CHEAP chinese steel for you!

I got a Finn Bear a couple of months ago. It’s held up pretty well and I was able to baton in through a couple of pieces of wood with no problem. I’ve been thinking about getting a Roach Belly and Canadian Belt knife myself; can’t beat the price.

The Roach Belly is the one I'm very interested in. Like the disign quite a bit. Like others have said though, for $10 each it's not hard to be interested in one of each, just to try the shapes out.

4116 Krupp dosen't seem too bad on a cheap blade as the one I have, the Finn Bear, went through dressing three deer nicely with no touch up. It also skinned four raccoons and then needed some work. But after that stuff for $15 ......no complaints.

I'm still not sure about CS big dollar stuff.

I got the Finn Bear to fit my "combat Survival Kit" before biuying other fixed knives
paid 30€ custom duties inclusive (almost 40% of the price) for it
i like it, a bit light but well done and seems to be a great knife to have
+1 on the german krupp steel (my UWK stained a bit, strange) better thank 440

Yes that review got me interested in it in the first place. Does anyone have the Canadian Belt knife?

oh ok...Just thoguht I would post the link, its what also got me interested in them...They are cheap enough to buy without thought, but right now beign the holiday season I don't even have $10 to my name anymore, lol...But I think when I get paid again I mgiht just have to order one...

i have the Belt knife. I used it a few weeks ago for field dressing and skinning deer. It is a very good knife for 10 bucks and doesn't fall much short of my Grohmann of the same design. However its one sixth the price of my Grohmann.
