I have a few. Kivinen from the early 1940s, two Martiiniis, and a Iisaki Jarvenpaa.
I tend to tuck the pommel of the Jarvenpaa into my palm to keep my fingers off the edge.

I love and have collected Finnish puukko for years; mostly vintage, some modern. Can't beat them for a great fixed blade. I really like Ahti knives; have 3 or4 of them. The Metsa is my favorite.

Note the compass is a Suunto, whose compasses are other famous Finnish tools used by outdoorsmen and soldiers around the world.

My only traditional fixed blade also happens to be a puukko, an Ahti-made Kellam Falcon:

I got to try it out this weekend while camping, and as Pipeman says it is indeed a great working knife. Pretty, too!

Häh?? Jätti puukko:D:D

I want all of the knives posted! I love taking my Marttiini Lynx and Owl knives out in the woods. The craftsmanship and beauty are second to none.

I'll follow this thread with excitement. Being from Scandinavia this is my favourite style of knife.

I have a love hate relationship with scandis, but lose all restraint when I see these. A dealer that set up at local shows always had a plethora of Helles. Oh man, I wish I would have kept those. My Skookum bush tool was probably the best of the puukko styles I had, but I do have a Gossman Orion, a combination of his puukko pattern, which I asked him to make when he did custom work, and his Polaris pattern, his version of the bushcraft knife. Puukko blade, bushcraft handle. Great knife.

If you want things other than knives Finnish, it's Midsummer holiday here on Friday and I could post some pictures of people in a serious state after too much alcohol...plenty of people drown here during that time as well...er, I think I'll pass on that:eek:

Let's stick to the Puukkot and or the landscape.:D:D

Here, Matti Koski Pocket Puukko with GEC 25 for size.

Out of interest, the SAHK 56th Vintage Car Run was held in my locale Vasa last Saturday. About 180 cars took part in the rally including some outstanding beauties such as this very rare Bugatti Ventoux from 1934 wort around 200k Euro or more.

And a particular favourite of mine, a Bentley S1 from 1958. The type of car owned by Keith Richards in another life:D:cool:

Thanks, Will

Great to see that one again :)
I´m glad you like it and use it - it would just be in my drawer...
Thanks for the update - Sir!
That Ahti Tikka has become my favorite fixed blade. On my belt every time I go into the woods because it's just a great general purpose knife. It never gets put away. It sits on my dresser when it's not on my belt. Close to relooping the sheath because I'm so afraid I might lose it and replacing it just wouldn't be the same. When I use it I often think of your generosity.

This one is the only one I have from Finland . but I do have a couple from Norway and Sweden ....

What is it exactly? Karesuando?

Later this year when I get high speed Internet connection to my house I'll post pics of my collection. The first knife my father gave me as a kid was a custom puukko with an amazing mosaic end pin. I've also inherited my great grandparents sami dress knives.
