Finnish knife?

HFinn,

I think I got a Lynx 131 and was told that it is one of the original designs by the founder of Marttiini.
Here are the outcome of my latest trip.

Yes, it's an old design. I have seen those since I can remember, for decades. Actually some I have seen were "kurssipuukko", gifts after finishing the reserve officer or NCO course. The sheaths had the signs of the course and the outfit.

But most important of course is that you bought the moomin book, now that's a classic!

That's some fine set of items you got there! :)
Japanese are crazy about moomins I hear.

Moomin was very popular in Japan when I was a kid, since they broadcasted a cartoon series on TV back then.
Now they don't, and Moomin is not as popular as before anymore.
I don't even think my 10 year old son knows the characters at all.
The book was actually a gift from a PhD student in whose thesis defense I took the role of the opponent at the University of Helsinki.
I remember reading a translated version of this book a long ago and that it was a deep story.
Anyway, I will give it to my son and hope that he enjoys it.

Now, I have to sharpen the knife but am not really sure how......

Well, at least every time I go to airport there is at least few Japanese people in the moomin shop browsing. :D
