  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Fire making today

Never go anywhere without Jute and fatwood.. I recently found someone who actually had that on a picture in his office. Not real sure why, but he said it was a reminder to him to grab his keys, sort of as a code.

Although, I follow that logic usually. I usually have some fatwood with jute wrapped around it in my pocket.

Great pics! Thats a pretty area you live in. Just plain love the handles on that kephart..I'm having a steamy torrid affair with colors that look like dry winter grass right now. Might I ask what the black n grey dingus on the right of your pack is? best to you freind. Anrkst

It's a tripod, you can get them at BestBuy, Target (??) and chinamarts (sometimes). It flexes and moves, you can rap it around a tree limb. I had one and lost it on a hike a few months ago. :D

Could have sworn I posted on this earlier...must have gotten distracted.

Great shots man, this is the best time of year to enjoy getting out and practicing firecraft. It's great to see somebody actually work a Busse in real woodcraft not just stored behind glass or chopping 4x4s.

excellent images.
the reason for all your trouble getting things just right is;
you don't have a beard.
once you singe your beard you'll be good to go
