I like to pick up big latigo scraps from Tandy sometimes. It is good cheap leather for experimenting and using for various things. Sometimes it gets used to protect a sheath while tooling it.
I saw some neat belt sheathes for Laguiole knives that were made like this. I decided to make one a bit larger to fit my fire piston and some other things. I'll probably made a smaller one to fit an Opinel, firesteel and some other little goodies. This one was just kind of screwing around with some different ideas.
Still plenty of room for some tinder and a tube of lip balm to lube the seal on the fire piston.
The contents of the pouch.
For a strap I just looped about 6 feet of paracord. It's easy to take off if you need to use it.
