I do my own heat treat with a fire brick forge. I get it a few shades brighter than Curie point and hold for 3-4 minutes. I quench in ~130 degree canola oil and then test with a file. Then it tempers in a 400 degree oven for 2 hours. I've treated around 30 knives this way and sold a good number of them and gotten good results.
