I can't get magensium powder here in Oz easily, so if one of you guys has some, please try it for me.
Get a roll of quality duct tape. Unravel about 10ft of it. Sprinkle a line of magnesium on the exposed sticky surface leaving the edges clear. Re-roll it up then unroll a bit, rip it off and try it as a tinder. It should in theory work great and be relatively weather resistant and protect the Mg from oxidation.
