I fired up my new Paragon for the first time today to normalize a few blades. I will be quenching tomorrow....yipe!!! It is pretty easy to use, but my only complaint is that the little holder setup is pretty lame. What do you guys use in your HT ovens to hold the blades?

I built my own oven, but I use a spare refractory brick that I've shaped and notched. I position the knife so that the entire blade is open to the kiln environment without being masked by the holder/brick. It's shaped to look like a small flat brick with two protrusions coming from the top of the brick with a space between in which the blade sits. The protrusions are small and serve only to keep the blade upright. I heat treat with the edge up in the oven. It works for me.
