Up for sale is one of my FireFly's. Fast Facts are:

- CPM S30V stainless hand satin finish
- RC 61
- OAL: 6 1/2"
- BL: 2 3/4"
- Fileworked thumb ramp
- Carp Underlay
- Cord wrap, impregnated
- Skull crusher
- Kydex sheath w/ clip
- US $ 295.00 + S&H ($20.00 within North America. Will ship international at actual shipping costs.) Payments can be made with PayPal, certified check, MO.

Small and slick, what can I say. Originally designed as a runners knife, this little neck/utility knife does well in multiple of everyday tasks. With a slim profile, but still secure in your hand, with the Japanese cord wrap style. The cord is wrapped over carp leather and impregnated with resins to make it more durable.

Thanks for looking.

Thomas

295 US funds, IMO that's a ton of money for 6 1/2" of knife, there must be justication for the pricing, best regards, home it finds a happy home.

You are in the handmade forum. The prices you see on mass produced factory blades do not apply here. These knives have had hours upon hours of personal care and attention paid by a single person into making them, and are worth far more that something popped out of a factory in a matter of minutes.

Someones art and deserves to be priced as such! Handmade with custom hand selected materials make custom knives unique and in demand. I still buy a couple production brands but mostly buy customs now. I can see eventually just buying customs only. The options available on a desired design are limitless.

J85909266 thanks I didn't know that.

MPE I understand what your saying! I have posted it here on BF many times, once you buy a custom made knife you'll never go back to production made.

I have bought from aprox. 8 BF hand made knife makers, so I understand something about hand made knives I think, maybe not, and I'll accept that. We all find something we like and willing spend our money on

SpearZ,

The way I understand, expression "Size doesn't matter" perfectly applies in regards to custom knifemaking...LOL :)

Cheers!

Mark

For that $$$ you could be a wide variety of custom knives out there, the door is wide open: smaller, bigger, bowie, tactical, skinner, artwork, file work, decorative engraving etc etc. Ever knife maker gets to make anything they want and the buyer can buy whatever the paypal can afford.

Here is a thought, have as many makers as would like too, post a $295 knife and lets see the variety to choose from

Cheers also and I still hope it finds a happy home!

The for sale section is not a place to discuss what a maker is asking for his knives. If you think someone is asking too much for a knife, dont buy it.

This is a fine looking knife and I am sure worth every cent !! Custom knife making involves hours of intensive labor, mental and physical. So unless you have ever made a custom knife that matches the perfection of this one, I suggest you keep your comments regarding a mans price for his work to yourself. You certainly do not have to buy any of the knives listed here and I am sure everybody would appreciate the absence of your negative opinions.:thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

"295 US funds, IMO that's a ton of money for 6 1/2" of knife, there must be justication for the pricing, best regards, home it finds a happy home." A maker DOES NOT need to justify his prices to ANYONE. SpearZ, name recognition also counts a LOT. Dont have any of Thomas Haslinger knives, but I sure recognize the name. Go ask Don Fogg or Phill Hartsfield to make a similar sized knife, its gonna be WAY above 295. Then ask them to justify their prices, see what they say. :)

Hi folks,

Thanks for the comments and jumping in on SpearZ comments.

Still a free world, but recommend for SpearZ to do "HIS HOMEWORK" before making public comments.

Cheers,

Thomas

Anyone quabbling about prices of sole authorship knives is free to outfit a complete custom knifeshop, put in years of learning the crafts, buy their own materials and crank out their own.

Nice knife BTW. Thats a sweet little sheath option.

My full apology to Mr. David Schott. You did ring a bell about the thousands of dollars spent on tools and workshop equipment and thousands of hours acquiring skills.

My sincere apologies to all, my comments were my honesty but out of place and out of line.

I do have full respect for knife makers taking all the time and efforts it does to make a knife, my apologies.

Thanks Mark for your moderator comment. My blunder and mistake I take full responsibility.

I've been a working man all my life on the tools and tool belt on my hip for over 30 years and know what it means to work hard for your money. My broken down and sore body parts remind me constantly.

I think I will slow down on BF in many aspects. I have enjoyed my time here, never met any of the knife makers or buyer owners but all seem to be good stand up people.

Wish everyone well, if I meet any of you one day, I will shake your hand and apologize to you in person. That's all I can do

Dont be too hard on yourself man, its the internet! Half the junk that happens on the net wouldnt ever happen in real life and that applies to 90% of the comments, too!

My apologies to Tom for hijacking the thread further. I would simply lock and re-post this badboy.

I dont particularly want to stir the pot at all. I just want to add that I have worked on several knives for Spearz, and have corresponded with him on many occasions. I am sure he meant no ill will by posting his comments, and that he was just stating his opinion. From my dealings with him, he is a stand up guy, and would not intentionally offend anyone.

That is a good looking knife/sheath combo. Where do you get those nice stainless belt clips? All I can ever find are the thin gerber style boot clips.

I just read your comment and let out a big sigh of relief, much appreciated. At least one knife maker has his door open to let me buy a knife. I'm sure will be doing business.

Cheers!
