This is another piece of Walnut that I salvaged from a demise of doom in the fireplace!
While splitting some firewood to sell two years ago, a friend of mine discovered a piece that had some strage "goin's on" inside it!
So, I cut it into blocks and dried them in the ceiling of my shop for two years and then sent to K and G to be stabilized.
My customer chose this one for his 5160 hunter to use in Colorado where he lives.
Hot blued guard and finial in a take-down assembly.
I just keep wishing I had a truck load of that walnut!

Beautiful knife, wood, and I'm really digging blued steel guards, etc. lately! I'd be proud to own that one.

It looks like you have an interesting contour on the handle; do you by chance have a top or bottom view picture of it you could post?

Man that's sweeeeeeeet, Karl.
I got to ask the frame around your pictures is that real or is it generated?
I guess what I am trying to say is that I like the way your photography shows off your knives, multiple views and closeups of the important areas, as well as being framed.
The photograpy of your pieces as well as the knives themselves are always absolutely imppecibale!:thumbup:

You call this "SERVICE' or what!?
That recess allows the heel of your hand a really nice place to rest and makes this handle style sooooooooooooooooo comfortable to hold:

Outstanding service, indeed! Thanks for posting the pic (I've been ruminating over handle shaping recently); it looks great from every angle!

WOW. Nice knife and even nicer handle work.
