Thank you. I’ve looked over some kits but not really sure where to start.let me do some checking.
If all goes right should be somewhere around 600 to 800the first thing I ever hammered out I used a charcoal forge, hair dryer, 3 pound sledge, channel lock pliers, and a 12 pound hammer head as an anvil.
I've demo'd forging things around a campfire using a piece of oak firewood as my anvil, channel locks, and a ball peen hammer to make a spoon out of rebar.
there are lots of free plans out there for making a coal (or charcoal) forge out of things like brake drums.
propane forges are pretty easy to make -- or can be found on ePrey under $200.
files, a HF 1x30, or even a side grinder with a flap disk is enough to shape a blade.
