First Aid: antiseptics?

Wow, is this good for burns as well as cuts and abrasions?

Unless the burn is open (at least 2nd degree with broken blisters), there is no need for an antiseptic, as there is no danger of infection in closed wounds.

In cases of burns with broken skin, use of Betadine or any other non-irritating antiseptic (such as honey, as Kampfjaeger mentioned) on the wound can (generally speaking) only help and will sometimes lessen healing time.

New Skin, on the other hand, may irritate a burn since it leaves a semi-solid coating that slowly flakes off over a few days. I am only speculating here, though, as I have not applied it to a burn yet. It is possible that it may prevent, at least lessen, pain associated with rubbing on a first degree burn.
The only event mentioned where use of New Skin is contra-indicated is when the "wound is infected or draining."
The only mention of burns on the bottle is: "Consult a doctor before using if you have diabetes, deep cuts, puncture wounds, or serious burns." I would take "serious burns" to mean, don't use it on burns that are severe enough to be open wounds.
