After years of dawdling I'm finally getting off my lazy behind and am putting together an M4gery. My LMT Defender 2000 lower is on the truck as I'm typing this and with any luck it'll be at the store tomorrow. I was also able to pick up a BCG and LMT tactical charging handle. Now I just need to pick up the upper, handguards, and BUIS. I'm not going to worry about optics for the moment, I'm going to run this as a box-stock LMT carbine for a while. I won't change anything unless I really feel the need to.

Yeah!!!

Congrats! That's one addiction I haven't subjected myself to, as my firearm tastes run in other directions, but the AR is a fine design, and the brand(s) you're getting are good quality. Be sure to post pics.

Good stuff. I'm still trying to find an M1 Carbine and saving up for a P90.

I'm pretty excited. This'll be my third rifle, and the only centerfire I own. I have a CZ 452, and that lil' boltie is a sweet shooter but I wanted something with more punch for serious occassions. Unfortunately I sold my Garand a while back, but I'll rectify that eventually by getting what I really wanted in the first place, an M1A.

Danny's right, join the CMP. You won't find a cheaper M1 carbine anywhere.

M1A..I may have that tattooed on my right arm someday. I have the standard model and I love it to pieces.
I have had almost every gun ever made, except for the $$$ ones, and I just can't get over my love of the Garand actions and wood stocks.
M1
M1A
M1 Carbine
Mini-14
All beautiful and perfectly suited for a soldier.
(Some people don't like the mini for military purposes, but I'd take one over an AR, given the choice. That's no insult to the AR..)

I have a 1944 Springfield Garand, and an M1A Socom 16. Both are alot of fun to shoot, although the Socom is a tad loud with the 16 in barrel. Still, a great East Coast woods gun.

I'm a big fan of the AR, but IMO the Garand and its son the M14/M1A are the finest American military rifles ever.

Wolf. I'm with you. I had a Garrand years ago for educational purposes, but have owned many M1As. I currently have a Socom 16 with an origianal E2 birch stock and EOtech Holosight, and a Loaded M1A stailess barrel. FN FAl, HK91? HAH! Fine rifles to be sure, but not up to the accuracy of the M1A.

Congrats, and good luck on the upper parts you need.

Mine has been on backorder for 4 months.

Depends on what you were looking for. M&A Parts has been keeping up "pretty well".

Problem is getting the "expendables". Them bullets aint cheap (Or available)!

Congrats on the new evil black rifle.....and don't forget to post some pics when you get a chance. (Where's the "this thread is worthless without pics" image when you need it??) :D

Congrats on the new rifle. I got a couple a while back with ther intention of building them up but have yet to get some parts in the mail. Post some pics when you get it in.

That is a noble love, and you should never get over it!

Did I miss the memo? This thread started in the Cantina? No more gun threads in the Cantina?

Say it isn't so!

:(

My AR15 (top, with the Pmag) and my brother's AR15 (bottom, with a D&H mag), both are 20"HBAR Bushmasters (mostly) but I've made some upgrades to mine.

Mine's up to 3,000+ rounds with no malfunctions of any kind.

The AR is a wonderful rifle. I have two Bushmaster Dissipators and love them. And one Armalite AR-10T. Those LMTs are slick. Congrats.

I've already decided my next AR15 will be a midlength, probably with an upper by either LMT or BCM.

The standard 1/9 twist many AR's have works well for me on a 20" barrel, but for a middy or carbine I think I'd rather have the current USGI 1/7.
