This is as far as I have gotten on my first attempt. The wooden knife on top I made as a template to give me something to compare to as I shaped the stock. I based this design off of the Benchmade Nimravus. The steel I'm using is an 0-1 tool steel my dad picked up for me. I cheated and used a metal cutting bandsaw to cut the rough shape. As you can see the overall length is 8.5 inches. I know the handle looks small but it is made to fit my hand. Any ideas on how to quickly straighten some of the cut edges would be greatly appreciated. As far as shaping the contours I'm planning on using the good old grinding wheel please let me know what you think. I know that it is a while down the line but I would really like to have the knife finished with black teflon, so any advice there is also welcome. In case the picture doesn't show up here is the link to it. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=67747877&albumID=756327&imageID=36480357

Basically yea what Dan said. The file is your friend. I swear by Nicholson Black Diamond Files. An 1/8" round chainsaw file will knockout those serrations quickly and easilly. A 10"-12" Mill Bastard file will do your straightening, as well as your bevels. and finally a 8"-10" half round will take care of your finger notch. You may want to taper or round out the back of the handle. a squared handle can be "hot in the hand" , which means it can cuase blisters. Good luck and post pics!
