Hopefully someone knows this guy and can help me out or perhaps he'll see this and get back in touch with me.
Got an email from 'Sam Wereb' from werebknives.com responding to my post stating interest about the Arclite. He had the non-serr and I sent his USPS MO 11/20 and the Delivery Confirmation stated he received on 11/24. HOWEVER, he did not confirm receipt until 12/2 which is curious but I guess could be explained if he was using a PO Box but the address appears to be a house street address. I asked him initially to confirm sent date, got no response so I emailed him about 10 days later requesting info and no response until 12/20 when I get this reply:
-----
'Sean, you are absolutely right, and I am sorry to have neglected you. I have been through the trials of Job here, lately, and have been way behind on everything. You'll have the knives by Xmas, guaranteed. I will
check the shipping date and email it to you.' Sam

No dice! I send other follow up emails on the 26th, the 29th and on the First I send:
-----
'Hey Sam,
Hope all is well and you had a wonderful holiday season. Just checking again on the Arclite. I've learned from posts on BFC that the knives did become available around Christmas so that answers part of my question. It has still been nearly two weeks since hearing from you the last time by
email and going on 5 weeks since you received my Money Order for this knife. It is still too incredible to me that you would risk anything over $23.50 BUT I am getting to the point where I have no choice but to pursue
further action. I need to hear from you by Friday Jan 5, 2001 or I will take the following action:
1. You have received and probably cashed a USPS Money Order. I will report that as Mail Fraud to the US Postal Inspector who will keep a record of you and your business for any future infractions and will also investigate this instance.
2. You contacted me on BFC regarding availability of these knives. I will
post in the 'Good, Bad & Ugly' Forum the particluars of this transaction quoting all emails specifically where you "guaranteed" arrival before Christmas as well as the timelines between email responses which are
irresponsibly overdue.
You've stated you have gone through rough times and I understand that all too well but you have now declined or have been unable to respond to my recent emails and when communication stops you leave me with no further alternatives other than to protect others from being treated similarly. I'm not going to make empty threats but I will remind you that maintaining a solid reputation is quite important in this business and especially on BFC and I feel that if I post this information it will definitely have a negative impact on you and your business. The money is a wash as I simply wanted the knife but I will methodically pursue all avenues available to me in order to rectify this situation and, as I've stated above, protect others. Please, regardless of what you are going through, contact me by
January 5, 2001 no later than 10 pm Pacific Standard Time or I will execute the above actions online immediately at that time and will follow through to the full extent of my ability.'
Sincerely,
Shawn

So, now it is after that time and still no response. I'm posting here then headed to the USPS site to file a complaint.
I am still beside myself that this would happen over $23.50 so leads me to believe something is going on with the guy but I still really have no choice at this time. Does anyone know him or have contact or ever dealt with him before? I do NOT want to shred this guy over a simple transaction but have been legitimately taken to a point where I feel I have no choice. The neat thing is that all the tools I used to communicate and deal with this situation I learned right here in GB&U! So now I'm hoping someone here can help me out again. The guys name is supposedly 'Sam Wereb' and the address I sent the MO to is in Columbus Ohio. An interesting aside to this is that the only response I got after sending the email on the First was from 'Thomas Anderson' which stated:
-----
'NOTED!'
-----
???? I've seen Thomas Anderson's name on the Forums before and was wondering if perhaps this was the same guy or a mistake but I replied to the 'noted' email at:
andersontech@webtv.net
Got no response after asking what the email was all about and whether it were meant for me or not. Sam Wereb email comes from:
werebknives@yahoo.com
So, if anyone can help out shoot me an email or post here. Sam, I hope to hear from you!
Shaking my head in amazement... $23.50!!??
