First Barlow?

But take a look at Rough Rider's Barlows too. Great handle choices, tidy finish and their stainless is very respectable, a decently turned out knife from China.
Are they making Utica's outsourced version? I have noticed that the RR seems to be based on rounded form of the Utica Kutmaster design, even the placement of the pins is very similar.

Like several people have stated you can't hardly go wrong with a boker. I am not to keen on the plus but it is all preference
It would be interesting to compare the German, Argentine, and Chinese made versions. I always thought the Argentine made ones were well done and interesting.

I'd second Case. I have two, an old carbon steel sawn bone and a bit newer SS Appaloosa bone, both very solid, and can often be found on the big E auction site for less than a GEC. I really don't mind their SS on a traditional knife either.

I believe CASE discoed Barlows around 2010-2013.. John
This is correct. I have a Case Barlow from 2008 in my hand right now, and I have seen them with 2010 tang stamps, though I don't recall any later than that. I think the larger, single-blade Grandaddy Barlow may have survived until 2012.

You can probably still find them for sale on the big auction web site though I am guessing prices have crept up except maybe for user-quality knives.
