I didn't know you could walk out of a Walmart with a BK9, not to mention doing for $60. I'd have been charged three times because I bought three of them!
Well, I got the 9 Friday and this evening was the first time I've been able to get out with it. I just took it out to finish clearing some shooting lanes and put some finishing touches on my stand and my blind. I played around with it some, batoned a few logs, made some feather sticks and started a fire, chopped some brush. So far so good, I really like it. I'm going to make a few changes. The coating definitely has to go. I feel it would chop and baton much easier without it. Also I'm going to pick up some aftermarket scales. Probably wood from Tommythe who. I tried hockey tape but I didn't care for it when I was chopping.
Oh, and because of a Walmart screwup I got it basically free. Actually they paid me to take it. They charged my debit card three times. When I called them to complain they said they would reverse the charges. I checked my account today and not only did they reverse the charges but for some reason they reimbursed me an extra time. I talked to my bank because I didn't want money that wasn't mine and they basically said don't worry about it a big multibillion-dollar corporation like that won't miss $60.
