First Becker

Hey Survivaledc.....

First of all thanks for buying a Becker knife...... You choice seems to fit your screen name...... This blade was patterned after my favorite long term carry blade and was designed as an always there Jack of all blades...... Have fun with your mods keep her sharp and she should work her little fanny off for you.... Please, Post pix when you get a little dirt time with her....

All Best.....

Ethan

Thanks for the reply Ethan!
I got her dirty yesterday! Took down the Christmas tree and put her through her paces. She held up remarkably and got encrusted with fir sap. :)
Check out the pictures I posted in the existing Becker picture thread:

Really enjoying the BK16. Used it last night to prep a fire using our Christmas tree trunk from last year. Then threw sparks off the ferro rod with it to light the fire. Good times, great knife.

I also got my first Becker this Christmas. My parents gifted me a BK2. Perfect for cleaning up after the ice storm we had! It went through hard wood like nothing and cleaned up nicely after. Thank you for creating such wonderful tools!

Regards,

Tim

Having just learned this weekend that working leather takes a LOT of patience and skill (and a good workshop, which I don't have), hats off to you on your new sheath. It took me two tries and more time than I thought it would to mod my BK2 sheath. This is my first Becker (next on the list is the BK7). Next up is stripping the coating off and figuring how to mount a condor pouch to the sheath, and a flashlight and ferro rod.

Factory micarta or liners or scales of your choice. Strip it , blue it.. Leave old scales on while stripping to preserve coating under scales for rust protection. A little water on straps and then fasten and let dry with thicker scales and they'll stretch a bit and be more user friendly or just unstich snap you don't like. :)

Becker knives are LOVED for their "modability". and why not? Make the knife your own, right? Great value...sturdy knives...but a dumbass label as being BK7 9 "combat knives". Yeah....whatever....

I'm really curious what makes you say this?

BK16 is my favourite Becker knife because it actually makes sense. Kind of like the grossly underrated CS Master Hunter. If only Uncle Ethan would consider a 4 inch, 1/8 inch thick spear point....sigh............:(

Man, you could make that happen in probably one weekend by modding a current 16. Yea it would take some elbow grease but would be a lot faster than waiting for KaBar to make it. Lol

I got a 16, it's been slightly modified of course but I <3 it!

Ok, that's a lie, the top one started life as a FFG 16, which was clipped, new scales made, deeper jimping added, and polished. It was all done by K9-Handler (anyone seen him around lately? Is he ok?) The next is the Saber-16 which all I did was sharpen and use the piss out of. It's my favorite of the 16s. Then down near the bottom is the FFG 16 which I picked up cause I didn't have one.

As for sheaths, they all ride in stock sheaths except for the k916 which is riding in a pocket sheath from Kelly Customs along with a Streamlight Microstream.
