My kid got his first Becker this morning and was out back chopping wood with it first thing!
This BK-9 is one awesome knife!!

:thumbup: good start. Ah the passage into manhood... the receiving of a BK9. My boys are still a ways away.

Congrats on the new steel. The 9 is my favorite, and most used Becker blade.
 
I too got a BK-9 as my first Becker. Absolutely awesome knife. Gift from my wife.

The BK9 was my very first Becker as well. It's an awesome knife to start out with, but it tends to spoil you, and you don't look at other knives the same afterward.
 
Awesome. I'd rather see this than a pic of a video game any day. Congrats on the passage of the king. It's kind of like giving someone money... It's always the right size and color.

Depends on size. The 9 will do everything the esee 6 can do, but it chops extremely well for its size. If you want a great all-around blade/chopper go for the 9. If you don't like the length go for the esee6. I have both and prefer the 9 even though it has a higher blade height.
 
Good clean fun! :)

Now he needs a BK-16 to go with it. There's not much you can't do with a sturdy chopper paired with a lighter, handier knife.
