First Becker

You gotta start with the BK2. A classic and many people's favorite knife.

BK2
BK7
BK5
BK9
BK11
BK14
BK3

They are all good, what would you be wanting to use it for?

My favorite is the BK2, its a great all around knife. My "The Knife", I been looking for something to beat it for over a decade, haven't found it yet.

The BK7 is probably the most woodland based versitile, it was my first BK7.

The BK9 is good from chopping to carving, and most everything in and between. Plus, you look cool when you whip this dude out cooking dinner when the in-laws are over.

BK5, excellent slicer, but heavy duty enough to stab through a hardhat

BK11, never leave home without it. Small, but able to do huge amounts of work.

BK14, see BK11 but with a different handle. My favorite Necker sized knife.

BK3, THE TACTOOL, more coming on that one.

thanks for the info, also where do you guys shop online for your becker's i buy most of my knives from knifeworks.com but i seem their selection in a little slim on beckers

2 or 7 depending on what you want to do with it.

best just pile all your money on the floor, and take a picture, because that's the last you'll see of it once you get addicted :>

There are many places out there, but unfortunately, pickin's are slim. We, um, er, Beckerheads seem to have been creating a run on BKT knives of late, and um, well, you'll just have to look.:D

Serveral good places, let Goggle be your guide, type in, the model you want, hit the shopping link, and start huntin'.

Good luck, and I hope you score ya one.

Comes down to what you want or can use it for. I got the BK9 first and love it sooooo much. The BK7 is cool too, better for just having something on you. The Ritter MK2 is a fantastic size/shape/thickness IMO. Though a bit much compared to the others.

Don't think you can go wrong with any. Just pick what you like the most and it'll be fantastico.

I did some research (lots on this forum) and decided that the BK2 was the one for me. While it was in transit (still is, BTW) I got all excited and ordered a necker, too. They just both seem very practical, and the unsolicited testimonials really made the difference.

As for whether I made the right choice, theoretically hell yeah. I'll let you know once those suckers arrive in the mail.

Be sure to get the right one for what you plan to use it for, but be prepared to freak out and get a few anyway. Good luck!

I think the BK2 is a must-have.

The BK7 is good for a longer, thinner knife.

The BK11 or BK 14 are good for smaller, EDC-types of blades.

The great thing about the BK2 is that it can do darn near everything all the others can, and in a small-isg package. It is the quintesential outdoors knife without the overly "Tacticool" look. It took me a loooooong time to decide what my "one" survival/outdoors/bushcraft knife would be, and I decided on BK2.

Just get a Mora to hang around your neck for light sharp stuff and then a BK11 or BK14 as a backup. Remember: Two is one and one is none (three is juuuuust right!)

I started witha BK7 and love it, wanted a BK6 before that, got one and love it. So, I've just decided to get at least one of each to be better informed on topics like this...:D

I started with a BK2, then 9, 11, 14, 5 another 2, 7 is on order. Eventually, we will all have them all. No point in fighting it.

Just close your eye's and point to one, and get that one. Seriously, examine what your needs are. You may end up with a few of them eventually, but make the first one meet a need you have.

I'm loving this BK 14
