Went through the same decision process a few months ago which included hours of reading on the BK9, BK7 and BK2 as the first Becker, (BK5 wasn't out yet) in the end it was the BK2.:thumbup:
If you get the BK2 now, it'll be one less to think about when you start decide between the BK5, BK7 and BK9.
(Don't worry about the BK11 and BK14, you'll end up with one of those eventually)

Welcome to the Becker Forums, and Bladeforums, glad you're here.
The Kabar sheath should fit any BK2. The original shape and size of the blade hasn't changed much, and the handles sure haven't. Kabar micarta slides right on a 20yr old RBK no problem. Really, the only difference is the weight and balance, not blade shape and design.
