What was your first Becker, and what was the story behind it, if any?
Mine was a BK2, no story really, I still love mine to this day though.
It is a reliable Campanion (hehe).

bk11. I was amazed about a knife i could wear around my neck. The rest is....well.....posted in a another thread :D

BK2

was googling for woods blades last year, found the BK2 Torture Test thread here on BladeForums...knew I had to have one.

It is all I dreamed of LOL

Got a BK14 to keep it company until the BK17 arrives. And I want a BK9. And a MaChax. And maybe a BK7. Possibly a BK16. :)

Yeah, I've been thinking of getting an '11 for a powerful, Becker quality edc, and maybe a '9 for a hardcore chopper/machete (although, I feel this role is adequately filled in by the BK2).

I prefer the EskaBar to the Necker. The handle on the '11 is way tiny. '14 feels better to my mitts lol

Oh really? That might be a good thing to consider, I've never seen them in person, as they don't sell Beckers in local stores.
I get all mine (just one BK2) on Amazon.

BK13 Remora!! It's a great little knife. There are so many things it can do and so few it can't IMO. Don't knock it till you've tried it!! ;)

Seriously get one if you don't already got one.

Hmmm, I don't know, 440a, when for only ten dollars more I could get a bk11, made of 1095 Cro-Van.
Maybe another time.

I got my first one yesterday. Today I stripped it and stone washed it. (Pics in another thread **here**) It's a BK5, and I couldn't be happier.

The BK15 will be my second and third... maybe fourth too :D

BK2 and BK9 in the same package. Had heard so many good things about the 2, and what's not to love about the 9? A guy on the Australian equivalent of this forum was offering the full family of Beckers, most with AZwelke kydex sheaths and I grabbed his 2 and 9. Would have gone back for the 7 as well if someone hadn't beaten me to the punch by a couple of hours.

Nice stone wash.
How badly did it mess up the edge though? I'm thinking of attempting it after my mirror polish wears down on my BK2.

Thanks, but I can't take all the credit. My drier did most of the work

Terribly. Not more than 15 minutes on a medium diamond stone couldn't remedy well enough to ready it for the strop. Not as bad as I was expecting, actually.

I've handled the Necker...it's OK but the addition of the Izula handle made the 11's blade SO much better. But that's my opinion...others love their 11s, it may depend on what size your hands are. And how much you really need a bottle-opener LOL

So would you say that the "Necker" is more comfortable than the Izula with the addition of those micarta scales, or does the bare Izula still beat it.
I don't know, but I think you are totally right about the 14, I don't need a bottle opener often (and if I do, I have my awesome balisong bottle opener),
so if I do take the plunge, I will do the 14, thanks.
