  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

First Becker?

Hmmm, I don't know, 440a, when for only ten dollars more I could get a bk11, made of 1095 Cro-Van.
Maybe another time.

Do you have one?

If that's how you feel; then that's how you feel. I'm just talking from experience.

I picked up the BK2 because of the popularity...after one test I was hooked on the Becker brand. I decided I would give the BK2 to my wife and invest in the BK9 (sad it didn't come with the BK13, guess my Buck PakLite/Mora Companion will have to do the light work).

You know what, it may just be your amazing picture putting words into my mouth, but that was pretty stupid of me to judge a knife on nothing more than blade steel.
I'm sure it's a great knife, but for only $10 extra, I could get something a little more substantial.
P.S. Are those all of your Beckers? If so, you've got a beautiful family.

That was pretty much my situation. Normally I don't do things based on popularity, but after some research and seeing the kind of things it was put through, particularly BRab's ( I think that was his name ), and how it was fixed right back up.
Boy am I glad I took a chance.

I still think it's a great investment. My 13 will do some things more easily than my 11 or 14 will.

No that's not all of them. It's just the most recent pic I have of them all. I'll need to take another pretty soon here.

My first Becker was a BK-10. And while I was waiting for my second BK-10 to show up I picked up a BK-11CSM.

sometimes (often) you can over research things.

i've seen amazingly arcane posts by people who are armchair rangers, lambasting things they have never seen, touched, or will ever see, because of "specs" or some quality they don't like.

the BK13 is a knife of a certain size. that's it. fits in an altoid tin iirc. a BK11/14 won't. many people find that kind thing useful. heck, i THINK i could get one into my wallet. useful? oh yeah.

My first Becker was the BK-11. The story behind my purchase is as follows. I had my heart set on a ka-Bar USMC. Was looking for the best pricing when I found a site where I could pick up a 3/4 size ka-bar and a knife known as the Becker Necker for the same price as a USMC. I went with the two knives over the one. That might have been one of the best decisions I've ever made! First of all, the BK-11 has been absolutely fantastic. It follows me wherever I go. I liked it so much that I started researching Beckers. Found Blade Forums, bought a BK-2, and am currently in the market for a BK-9. That little knife made me a lifelong Becker fan. My next knife will be a Becker and so will the one after that. I will promote these knives as much as I can. I absolutely love'em!

As of today I can proudly say my first becker is a BK2! and judging from the feel of it I can already tell it won't disappoint lol

Yeah!!!!! :D

my first and only Becker thus far is the BK2. I have caught the bug though that much I know. I wanted a nice camping/survival type knife and I had not heard of Becker yet... I almost went with a Bear Grylls Ultimate Survival knife instead of a BK2... i know.... i know... let the laughter ensue. I was actually reading reviews of the BG knife and they were decent. It wasn't until one reviewer said that he changed from carrying the BG to the BK2. BK2? I looked it up and the rest as they say, is history. TY, South American river.com reviewer, I owe you one! :D

Pretty much my story too. Except I got the 2 and 11 at the same time.

There she is. Although, I couldn't bring myself to do the forced patina until I had beat the hell out of the black coating! BK2 beauty!!!
