first benchmade, M390 710 vs S30v Griptilian

Another vote for the 710. The Grip is a fine knife, just feels plasticy to me and that plastic "thwack" is kind of annoying.

Thank you for your info. Just lost my Spyderco ZDP and wasn't to very impressed with, even comparing to S30V. Just another guy looking for the latest greatest folder in terms of edge holding capacity.

I'd just like to ask what steel you have experience with that was superior to s30v for you in edge holding? Just curious since in your experience ZDP doesn't do better than S30v.

You aren't going to find much better in terms of edge retention that zdp...maybe s110v or xhp, but in terms of stainless, zdp is pretty much king in edge retention. S30v is a GREAT edc steel in that it will hold a very nice working edge for a very long time. But when we are talking about holding a hair whittling edge...s30v is not the best choice.
