Im working on my first big knife :D. Just finished getting it roughed out and I can tell its not going to be easy. 0verall it's about 10.5". Tell me what you think so far any tips or critique would be appreciated! Thanks. Will get the grinds done and post pics of that later.

Yep first recurve, thanks Wloch

Finished the grinds, pretty good for me! Here they are, big knives are fun to grind :) Sorry about the bad pictures.

Looks good to me! I make more big blades than anything else, and when you get used to doing those (I've done a bunch of 24" OAL blades lately), doing a little one is just so great, because it takes what feels like seconds.

Is that a hollow grind? It is hard to tell from the photos. I'd suggest bringing the grinds farther up, closer to the top if possible. Try getting the line where the grind meets the blade surface as straight as possible.

I like grinding all the way up the spine to create a distal taper, this eliminates the need to have this "straight line" that I speak of.

For a first long blade, you are doing well.

Its a flat/convex grind. I will try to bring up the grimy a little before ht. Thanks a lot!
