Just got the shipping confirmation on my BK-7 along with the micarta scales. I'm ready to get that baby out for some fun in cajun country.

Congratulations!
Welcome to the forum.
Great knife. Good call on the micarta.
I'm all of a sudden hungry for some crawfish!

Pics when you get it! :D

Congrats! The 7 will be my gift to myself if/when my BH# gets approved. I know Moose has been busy with other stuff for a while now.

Wow! Thanks for the warm reception! I've been planning to join in for quite some time, but felt I needed to make the commitment to buy first. Unfortunately, the Becker line is just too great to make a quick decision on where to start. Next up will be a big boy. Just need to decide on BK-9, MACHAX, or wait for BK-1.

welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will love the 7. It is on my list as well. it's definitely a favorite of many on here. use it well.

Congrats on the lightweight beast! You'll like the blade, for sure.

Got my blade and micarta on the same day! I was blown away at the size of this thing. You really can't grasp how big these knives are until you actually get your hands on one. Itching to cut something.
No kidding about lightweight, I can't get over how light this puppy is considering the size. Now the question remains; to strip or not to strip?

The Becker addiction has infected me also, and I ordered a BK7 last night. I've already got the 2 and 9 (and 11,13,16,17), but really need to see for myself how the length vs. weight vs. balance thing plays out for ME. I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed. :)

How long have the larger BKs been lazer etched? Crifer just received a stamped tang, and now I'm starting to wonder if I will also. I didn't even think to investigate that before ordering. I'll know by Tuesday I gues.......

I guess I'm in the minority, but I like the black finish. At least Mr. Becker agrees with me. :D

I'm also undecided on the whole patina thing. I take care of my stuff without necessarily babying it, but I kinda feel that mojo is something you give your gear from use, not decoration. No offense meant! I've seen many gorgeous blades here, I just like to imagine great stories attached to the wear.

Let the coating wear off naturally. I think KA Bar is selling through all the stamped ones before making any etched ones.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping mine is stamped so the logo is still visible long after the finish wears off.

BTW Joelski, I agree with your sentiment, but am in no way judging folks who want to do otherwise.
It reminds me of a saying I read once, "Scars------like tattoos, but with better stories." :)
