First Bowie, first take-down (Final pics added)

Sweet knife:thumbup: You may think you have a lot left to learn, but I am sure your at the top of your class.

I am sitting here looking at the disassembled pictures and just want to make sure I am seeing this right. Is the threaded part cut to be a clevis? If it is is something I would have never thought of doing, I have been using the keyhole method to attach threaded rod. I think that the clevis idea would be a bit more flexible and cover more applications.

Unky, you ave it right. I left the pin loose because my tang is too thin and the head of the bolt is thicker so it would not pass through the slots in the washers/ferrules. If you had a thicker tang you could taper the end enough for the bolt head to be the same thickness. It does give more flexibility in fitting everything together. If you wanted you could then when you are sure of the fit, peen the rivet to fix the rod in place.

By the way, I ain't that clever. I got the idea from a WIP I read in the past by Kyle Royer. Sorry can't remember more.

None of us have failed to pick up tricks from seeing other people's work. Clever enough that when you saw it, it got filed away under "huh, gonna have to use that when I make my first take-down." And now it's been learned from you. The great circle of life goes on.

Kyle Royer will have learned that from someone else, too.

Yeah, i think it looks great Patrice..Alot of great ideas here, a few i plan on borrowing :) ..The next one is mine, right? :P
