This is my first go at a bowie knife the blade is 10.5" with a overall of 16.5"
figured walnut handle and a mild steel gaurd.

what do you think?

i'm thinking that looks damn cool but also that you need a close up so we can see the detail better :)
 
Looking real good Shawn, but you need to tell us more about this knife. Blade steel? How is the ferrule/spacer made?
 
It looks great.I too would really like to see some close up pics.The rustic look works very well.

the blade is etched 1084
the gaurd is etched mild steel bent to a slight "S" shape
the spacers are black and white spacers and birch burl all stacked together

I'll see what i can do for better pictures this weekend

The pictures are fine, it's fotango that is the problem. At least when it comes to their free hosting. They don't allow you large enough pictures and that darn fotango ad on the bottom is an eyesore.

i agree , i will try and figure out how to use my web space that i just found out about from my isp then i should be able to link to pictures from there
