You are correct about that! I just did a couple more and took out a honeysuckle as well! Opened up a red maple sapling and a nice flowering dogwood. Not to mention the other tree of heaven I took out that was obstructing a slippery elm. These things are a real enemy to our native trees.
Oh! An interesting thing I noticed with the BATAC. When I took a look at the "skullcrusher" thing at the butt of the knife, I thought to myself, "This would make an excellent walnut crusher!" Most of the time, the husks and shell on the walnuts straight from the tree are a real bear to crack. Even with a rock. The blunt point of the BATAC crusher would probably do the trick.
