First Busse, FSH or NMSFNO hung jury....

What resinguy said nailed it for me too. The magnum fusion handle on my original HHFSH fits my hand perfectly, the SFNO/NMSFNO a little less so for chopping with.

I let both my SFNO-LE and NMSFNO go, because I (a) needed the money and (b) would only really use them for variety over the HHFSH. The HHFSH would always be my go-to knife.

Until you've handled both though, you'll never really know.

Just order a coated/micarta ASHBM from the shop direct and call it a day, best bang for your buck right now for what is probably the best Mistress' ever made IMO. Of course the only way you could beat the value would be getting an even better price on one via the secondary market here on the exchange… ;)

What this guy said , ASHBM best bang for the buck

I love you guys! So basically I'm going to do what you say: buy them all. Lol

Rob has an awesome deal on his green outlaw with sheath.. I'm really thinking that is the smartest way for me to go right off, a package with a sheath, whatever it is.. Also, there are some definite steals on the ASHBM to be had as well, but that seems to be holding for a bit..

Here we go.. Plunge time pending a cpl emails...

FSH would be my choice, I have had all of them and the FSH is the winner..

I have had two NMSFNO and one NO. I have sold them all because the handles werent fitting me right. I recently bought a NMFSH and the handle is perfect.

The NMFSH was my first "big" Busse and it has been my go to. I even went so far as to keep it over a CGFBM. It chops great and is not too bad of a carry. However in the end you will probably get both. :)

While you actually have the money get the higher priced option. You cant go wrong with either but its easier to save up next time for the cheaper blade.

As the NMSFNO and the FSH have nearly identical blade shapes, it comes down to the handles. My own preference is the Fusion handle (better chopping), so FSH for me. The FSH is also available in a greater variety of thicknesses and grinds. IMO, the 0.27" thick, sabre grind versions are the sweet spot.

This.

Get a coated. It'll be cheaper, and you can beat it, then strip it.

Ok guys.. Maddman offered me a great deal on his Garth NMFSH. I wasnt going to, because I wanted a sheath with it, but he fixed that, and for a price I could live with, too.
But if rob still has that green thing in a cpl weeks... Or even that minty Fusion Mistress.. I will have another!... My gun cabinet feels neglected already..

Thanks for the Input folks!
The deal aside, the FSH won out in my brain with its handle. Your comments on it just reinforced me there.

Without question the best bang for the buck is the ASHBM-get it coated with a canvas handle, and it will run you $487 before shipping brand spanking new-as others have said after using it a while, strip it and enjoy it even more. When the ASHBM is pulled from the Busse site (which could be shortly) watch as the price skyrockest on them. I have used the FFBM and NMFBM, and honestly believe the ASHBM will hold its own against any of them. Others will disagree and that is fine, to each his own. I recently Sold or Traded 2 of the CG ASHBM, not because I disliked them, but because I have a ASHBM le and CG ASHBM on order. I much prefer the Canvas over the G10 for a large Chopper. The NMSFNO is one of the Best all-around knives Busse ever made but they are hard to come by. As others have said contact Busse and see if any blanks are available. Good luck on your quest.
