Hello all

I am new here, I have many knives that are probably inferior
100_0480.jpg

I am looking for a good blade that is ~6" to start with (for general use and some tactical use) and want to know any suggestions. I will further my collection later; however I have to start somewhere. Forget my ignorance>>>>>>

Get an ASH-1 while they are still available directly from Busse. It is an all around great knife and many peoples favorite of all time.

I saw the web site has them for about 300. So that should be my first one. I love the FBM and the FFBM, but I have to start somewhere.

^^^^^^^^ There's what I was gonna say. Grab an ASH while they're available from the site. That, or wait to see if Skunk puts any more of the AASH's (the skinnies) up at the store.

I bought one of those S&W Big Choppers, just to mess around.....it was RAZOR Sharp...cut grass like mower.......first stump I hit warped the edge like an Origami Boulder! It was fun pushing it further and further till I didn't feel safe chopping anymore.

What is the one below the 2nd Kabar?

Don't blast me here guys, but to start....check out Scrap Yard...entry level into a WHOLE new world of knives that will NEVER let you down.

ASH from the store it is. Or can anyone offer my a good price, so I can test the quality. However, I have no doubts. I am usually a gun collector, just now getting into knives. I am a virgin........ If you want I can post pics of some of my guns ( some are very scarce and some are scary).

The only thing to be aware of, is that the CG ASH's are really thick and pretty heavy, so if that's not your thing, I'd try for one of the Anorexic ASH's from the BCS.

Also, as Jason stated, don't be afraid of the ScrapYard and Swamp Rat blades. They're Busse family also, just different steels, but still have incredible heat treats and performance for a fraction of the cost.

Just my $.02..., but be proud of and use the knives that you have. "Inexpensive" doesn't necessarily mean "inferior." Any knife may prove itself adequate depending upon the task. Enjoy collecting ALL knives..., YES..., ALL KNIVES!!!!!

I have looked at the swamps series; However, I would like to start my Busse family with INFI. Just to start off with something very STRONG.

Sorry to post before your post. I am not saying that my knives are inferior, however I feel inferior to most of your collections.
I have many knives that have served me well through the years, but I am looking for something that is unique and special, that will last for me to give to my sons.
Plus I am looking for an addiction, I have as many guns as one person can touch. Now I am moving on to something I am a novice at. That is what is great about the world, I can always learn something...........

Well just like any other addicition I am ready for the challenge. Did that sound right:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I am ready to be introduced into the world of knives, I have waited my whole life for this.
Lets get started!

Well before anyone asks, I have heard of Busse blades for years. Then I saw the test of the FFBM on knifetests.com. I am really looking forward to owning one; however I will never treat my knives like he does on his site.... I am just a simple man.....:D:D:D

Run Run fast don't look back  J/k......Welcome come on in would you like some ....Kool-Aid you look thristy.:D

Ready for addiction is right. Ive only been collecting for a year and thought I was addicted at around 20 knives for around $2000. I just started on this website 3 weeks ago and have bought 3 ASHs an LE, a skinny, and a CG, and jumped on another ASH-LE but ran out of money. Almost spent more in 3 weeks than the rest of the year. You wont go wrong, whether as a user or a collection piece, if you get an ASH-LE. Beautiful knife. Not too thick or heavy, but strong as hell.

Hey GF, It's a United Cutlery CT41 combat commander.

jeremill, welcome and good luck with your future Busse family collection.

You won't regret it.
Helle

The knife is a Colt Commander if you can believe that......

I have been stuck on guns and knives my entire life...However, now that I am out of grad school, I am going to buy everything that has enticed me through school.... However, Busse is not one of the knives that are talked about over Biophysics, so I am safe to say that I am the first.

I can tell this habit is going to be very expensive, I will limit myself to maybe 2-4 a month. That will depend on the price..

God help me.... I am alreadly spending money I don't have:):):):)
