well, the CGBMs and FFBMs have been selling around the $500 mark these days.....

i say, if you are going to spend $500 anyways, spend the extra $200 and go for the FBMLE......


they can't be beat....

I would say, if you got the cash go straight in at the deep end and buy a BM in any form. It's the knife that brought me to Busse and I think nearly every Hog here has one. Certainly it's a knife you can abuse for years and still pass it on to your son.

If you do decide to go for an ASH you won't be disappointed but for a lot of people, especially people who haven't tried Busses before, they can feel too heavy and fat. Stick with it you'll get used to the feel in no time and even start to look at other knives as being flimsy.

The FBMLE is awesome if one can afford it !
If I didn't have to pay for a big custom I have on order, I would definitely get one myself.
