I have been curious about various Carothers knives over the years. I've passed on a few that were offered in trade and sort of regret not trying some!

Well, last night I decided to pounce on a Field Knife 2 hard/thin.

Can you folks enlighten me as to what I can expect, specs, opinions, and pictures of these to hold me over?

Thanks all!

Well, obviously, you'll now have an ergonomic knife that stays sharps, cuts well and is almost impossible to break. But less obviously, you'll also now be able to see around corners and if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear it, you'll hear it.

Be careful, if you're unaccustomed to women throwing themselves at you it can be disorienting at first.

Expect exceptional handle comfort, steel that cuts like crazy and doesn't seem to wear hardly at all.
They are not the flashy type of knife but a serious, comfortable, stick with ya forever and your kids too type of cutting machine that is actually a bargain for the price. I find myself occasionally just holding and admiring . Sounds a little weird, but I bet every person who owns one does the same thing. At least at first anyways, lol

There is an "ah ha!" moment and something in the lizard part of your brain connects with the knife in your hand and it all just makes sense. The ergonomics and cutting performance all come together with the best steel on the market.

I do it everyday with Sophia, my DEK1.

I fell in love with D3V steel the first time I started sharpening it. I love the feel and sound of my diamond stones running down the bevels of the D3V steel. It was so smooth that it seemed like the diamonds were not even cutting anything.
