First Carothers knife on the way!

I have been curious about various Carothers knives over the years. I've passed on a few that were offered in trade and sort of regret not trying some!

Well, last night I decided to pounce on a Field Knife 2 hard/thin.

Can you folks enlighten me as to what I can expect, specs, opinions, and pictures of these to hold me over?

Thanks all!
expect to like the way it feels to hold

Expect to be ruined for every other fixed blade out there, to become a CPK-aholic, to feel the need to constantly beg Nathan to make a folder so that he can ruin all other folders for you too, and for your retirement fund to be constantly shrinking instead of growing.

On the plus side, you'll have a knife that you can trust to hold an edge far longer than you are accustomed to and won't have a hot spot when you actually use it.
Bonus, it comes with the best kydex sheath around.

Hey Tet, I recognize you from the other forum. Best advice I can give is to use it. Also, since that’s a hard and thin model don’t go crazy batoning it.

I am now concerned about the batoning.

I know that 3V is tough stuff and should be able to take a beating. The blade is thick enough that I think it "should" be fine for batoning. I am concerned about the thin edge being able to take some thumping on.

I certainly don't plan on beating this thing to death, but some firewood prep including batoning, will take place. I am concerned that I bought the wrong model.

It'll be ok. Go ahead and use it for what you bought it for and if you have any problems I will repair it replace it or refund. The HT is not as robust as the standard field knife but it's more durable than a lot of knives that have seen a lot of batoning. It will fine.

Awesome! I really appreciate that!
It doesn't get any better than that.
Pretty cool.
