First carved effort

Very nice, Dave. You pulled it off. I saw that one while Dave was getting it laid out and it looked like it had real potential then. It certainly turned out nice.

Looks great to me! The first one is the hardest to start. Once you have done that one, the next one is easier. Just don't let it be your last!

WOW. Thank you all. Karl I was scared That is why I went with buffalo and not a $300 pice of ivory for the first one but the more I worked on it the more I liked it.. It dose feel very nice in the hand.

Very cool Dave. Love how you took the pattern into the guard. That really completes the carving package.

Love the blade profile on this one too. Really outstanding knife all around.

Dave,

That is spectacular, your carving skills are impressive. Keep it up bro, you're on a great roll.

Great job! I am really sad that I am going to miss the ACE show AGAIN! You guys always push yourselves and it shows in your work.

Dave, you're off to a fine start. Ivory isn't much different from horn. Wood is, but it's not bad. Steel is the best.

David

Thank you all Agin. Bill I missed being at Gary's and seeing my friends but I here you took steel making to the next level I wish I could have seen that. David B I did a little steel carving on the guard on this one just enough to know I want to do more. Maybe I dig out your carving DVD watch it again and try my hand on a blade.

Dave,
That is a tremendous piece!
But the best part of this post???
You reminded me that the ACE show is next weekend!!!
I hadn't marked it on my paper calendar, so I'd forgotten... Oh, I would have found out on Thursday as I did put it in Outlook... But your knife just woke me up again!!! :D
