First couple of blades. Need some advise on my tangs.

I bought some zebra wood scales but I'm having a hard time designing my tangs being my first blades. The tanto tang is somewhat short at about 3 1/2 inches and the other knife has a very long narrow tang. What would you guys do with what I have so far? Thanks for any tips.

Thanks Natlek! On the tanto that would be a hidden tang. How would you go about doing a full tang on that?

I would do at least a 5 inch handle on a tanto with a blade that size. Knives of this style tend to have longer handles. I think Natlek's suggestion to make it a hidden tang may be your only option.

Being my first two I just grabbed some files and started pounding out the blade shape. I need to take the tang into consideration from now on.
