5" blade made from 1/16" 0-1 tool steel 4" black walnut handle

Heat treated in my two brick map gas forge and quenched in canola oil, tempered @ 400 for two one hour sessions.

May I enquire about their intended purpose and the thin steel choice? Good fit and finish for firsts...

The 3/32" I gave my brother for his birthday, he said he wanted a general purpose knife. I abused it for a week before I sent it to him, I used it for everything from cutting aluminum cans in half, cutting my pork chops, and scraping on one of my self bows all while holding a nice edge. That really impressed me.

The 1/16" was my sad attempt at a fillet knife... I made it for a friend at work who wanted a tougher fillet knife for cutting fins and rougher work.

I'm still learning :) My problem is that I'm not really a knife guy, but I love to make my own stuff ya know? I started making bows and though that knifes would be fun too...

Gotcha. I was curious as I usually stay on the north side of 1/8 for anything other than a kitchen knife. Thin steel is actually harder to work. It tends to flex and grind weird because of it. It also heats up really quick... So, good job with that, looks nice and even.
I got into making knives much the same way. I had always fixed everything I ever had, and my family has always been self sufficient with almost everything... making knives and tools was inevitable I guess...
Keep em coming...
