First crk and it has a minor issue

I understand I shouldn’t have even touched the blade to the strop I bought the knife to use it though so today I’m going to take it to the stones and set a new bevel and see how it cuts. I think I will gradually fix it over time by cutting into the stone and removing edge material a little at a time. If it gets too out of hand I will have to pay for a blade swap and I’m totally ok with that because I am going to get some use out of this sexy blade That is for certain

I like your attitude, OP!

I’ve recieved $200-ish knives from two well known “great quality/great warranty” companies with flaws I considered egregious, both with less than satisfying trips back to the manufacturers. In the end both wound up flawed but functional, so I decided to “let it go,” as I bought ‘em to use ‘em.

I can imagine the journey being tougher with a CRK though, so you’ve definately gained my respect. (Luckily my few CRK’s have been mostly complaint free.)

Well I sharpened her all up today. I’m not exactly sure how to post pictures and make them appear in the thread so I’ll try the best I can. If anyone seen the edge before, this is how it is now

The clip side picture looks hazy toward the back but I promise it’s not. Must be the lighting

I couldn’t help but put a mirror on it. Thing get sticky as all get out and really makes phone book paper fall effortlessly. I would say I’m totally happy with the fix now and all that’s left is to get some scratches on the handle and break down a few dozen boxes!

Edit: well I obviously have no idea what I’m doing wrong as how to post a picture here. I hit the icon paste a url and all it does is the IMG bracket
Maybe this works

Here’s one from your link. Maybe someday I’ll have your level of skill. It came out great!

Thanks for the kind words guys! I greatly appreciate it. I flattened the edge on a norton sic course stone and initially started the reprofile with that stone and moved all the way to the 1k glass and still couldn’t get it how I wanted. So back to the first stone till I knew with out a doubt I had a bur. By that time I was getting to Ansy and set the blade grinding attachment to match the bevel. That ended up being 16 degrees and then moved all the way to the 12k belt and finished with 3,1,.5 micron paste on balsa
