great knife. size and shaping and fit and finish, all great.. nothing y'all dont already know.

two things I dont care for is the texture of the scales and clip. didnt know they were rough feeling and kinda sticky. not from an adhesive, i mean the rough texture kinda sticks to your hand. prefer it was smoother, but that will wear in I suspect as I use it. second thing the ceramic ball frame bar lock design. not sure i like it compared to the older lock bar touching blade ramp with just proper angles setup. time will prove on that one or not. regardless enjoying it so far.
I shined my Regular up just a little bit and anodized it. It is much more resistant to scratches. I also clipped the blade and added the BG-42 label. I have a hard time remembering what knives have what steel.View attachment 1644359

Wow! Even I can see what you're saying about it.
I think I'd send it back...

new inkosi on top.
Wow, i don't think mine was that aggressive. That looks like it'll eat pockets in no time. Maybe you got a fresh bag of media type blasting?

The CRK side of me cringes at this photo but the other side loves the clip point! How much did you lose on the length and if i may... why did you clip it?

No blade length was lost. I don’t do a lot of skinning so the clip point is more to my liking. I got this knife in 2004.

So I just got a new one in today (8/21 mfg date) and noticed the finish is way more rough than it used to be. I have a NIB from about 4 years ago to compare it to and its pretty significantly different. I actually came on here to see if anyone else had the same observation.
I suspect ours are similar. I wouldnt call mine like sandpaper, but it is very rough and catches pocket fibers under the clip. wonder if they changed the specs and went to rougher finish?

i'm not digging the pocket clip and under the pocket clip being a bit of a pocket shredder, so far. minor complaint though. I'm not sending mine in....it will wear in sooner or later as mines a user...not a collector one.

so I got a notice that a tanto inkosi was available from a dealer. course i had to buy it...so now I got two.

like the tanto blade shape. the scales are the same super rough texture. rough as my other one. these both were made close together. makes me believe they make them rougher now on purpose.

The Inkosi tanto is a real good looking blade shape. It’s more useful than you think also

Congrats. My first and so far only CRK is a Large PJ Inkosi. I adore this knife. I think a 31 or 'Zaan is in my future next. If I don't pick one up next month from Spark while I'm in Louisville, I'll almost assuredly stop in and grab one from him over the holidays.

I just got a new small 31 in the mail yesterday afternoon... After ditching the clip and fob it went into my pocket and rode there all day today, the rough texture has already smoothed noticably. It's still not quite as smooth as the small 21 I had, but that also had micarta inserts.1632875894862584047669.jpg

Not to hijack the thread, but I just finished day 2 of all day carry with my new pj 31. It's once again noticably smoother. Admittedly I have a rather physical occupation, and wear Duluth trading fire hose which at least in my experience is more abrasive on pocket contents than the average pair of jeans. I can definitely see folks who have to wear dressier clothes to work having a problem with the finish being rough. I also abhor pocket clips and carry loose in the bottom of my pocket, which might make a difference.
